Kangana Ranaut alleges Rihanna took INR1bn for protest tweet

Actor, once again, takes a jab at US singer

Thalaivi actor Kangana Ranaut has made many claims but most recently, they have been about the ongoing farmers' protest. Ranaut, who has voiced her opinion on several platforms, has been vocal about her disapproval of the agitation. In a recent interview, the Bollywood star attacked singer Rihanna and activist Greta Thunberg, who had voiced their support in favour of the ongoing farmers' protests in India.

Ranaut had said that the Barbadian singer, worth a reported $600 million according to Forbes, must have charged "at least INR1 billion" for her tweet.

This week, both Rihanna and Thunberg had shared the same news about the agitation leading to mass uproar and mixed reaction on social media. Their supportive tone and immediate reaction prompted a statement from the external affairs ministry. Neither of them has responded back to attacks made by Ranaut.

On Tuesday, Rihanna shared a CNN news article on the matter and asked, "Why aren't we talking about this?!" The Queen actor consequently launched repeated Twitter bouts against her, from commenting on her career, her appearance and her qualifications to speak on the subject.

In the Republic interview, Ranaut had said that this was “a conspiracy to brutally divide India into pieces.” She asked why Rihanna, who 'hasn't spoken yet about the pandemic, hasn't spoken about the US Capitol Hill riots, one day wakes up and tweets about Indian farmers'.
