Instagram users might not be able to share posts from their feed to stories as the popular social media network is disabling the feature in some regions. Instagram wants to see how it changes engagement with the feature reports The Verge.

“We hear from our community that they want to see fewer posts in Stories,” the notification starts.

“During this test, you won’t be able to add a feed post to your Story.” Resharing posts to stories is a fairly common practice, though it does create situations where you’ll see a post in your feed and then immediately see that post duplicated in your friend’s stories.

This means that users will be able to share tweets in IG stories and IGTV previews but not normal feed posts.

Sharing posts to stories has been an effective way for influencers, businesses, and celebrities to create a social media presence. For example, a non-profit organisation has a better chance of getting donations from people if it posts feed on its story.

Twitter is also testing the ability to share tweets to Instagram stories as stickers.
