Billionaire Elon Musk who is an avid user of Twitter said he will be leaving the popular social media platform for a while. It is still unclear as to why Musk made this decision. The move comes after his recent posts contributed to a stock market frenzy driven by an army of Reddit-informed retail traders.

“Off Twitter for a while,” Musk tweeted to his 44.8 million followers.
Tesla and Space X CEO has a strong social media presence, his tweets have over the years caused shits in financial markets.
Recently when he recommended his followers to “Use Signal” after WhatsApp issued new terms of service both Signal and Telegram messaging apps saw a sudden increase in demand. Signal was downloaded more than 100,000 times in the app stores of Apple and Google in the last two days, while Telegram picked up nearly 2.2 million downloads, according to data analytics firm Sensor Tower.

Further, the price of bitcoin surged 15% after he changed his Twitter bio to read “Bitcoin” and GameStop shares, which rose 56% after he tweeted “Gamestonk!!” in support of the movement.
Tesla CEO also tweeted his support for the joke cryptocurrency Dogecoin causing the digital currency to soar 20%.
Elon Musk has become one of the most influential personalities on social media platforms, he also surpassed Amazon top boss Jeff to become the world’s richest man with a net worth of more than $188.5 billion, $1.5 billion more than Bezos reports Bloomberg News.
