Followers don’t guarantee long term success if you’re hollow inside: Ayeza Khan

Actor confessed she never strived for more followers or likes, they were just a consequence of her hard work

Entertainment Desk January 30, 2021

Just two days ago, popular television actor Ayeza Khan dethroned Aiman Khan as the most followed local celebrity on Instagram. With 8 million followers, the Meray Paas Tum Ho star now has the highest following on the app, closely following behind is Aiman with 7.9 million followers as of now.

In December, both the artists had 7.8 million followers, but Aiman was also included in Forbes' list of Asia's 100 Digital Stars alongside Mahira Khan and Atif Aslam.

Nevertheless, to thank her fans on the app, Ayeza shared a beautiful picture of herself and wrote, “Thank you guys so much for the love and respect! It is exciting to have such a huge number of followers on here. But I must say that, the only reason I am able to celebrate this today is because I know how hard I worked to achieve whatever I have.”

However, she confessed that her focus was never on her number of followers. “It never works in the long run. My mother has always taught me that it’s important to work hard and build your legacy, and be patient,” she continued relaying some words of wisdom. “When you have those, all the good stuff comes without you knowing.”

On that note, Ayeza asserted, “Growing number of followers don’t guarantee a long term success if you’re hollow from inside. There is a reason why someone with a few thousand followers on Instagram can have more influence on people than someone with tons of millions of followers. Please don’t be that fool that runs after numbers.”

The Mehar Posh actor asked her fans to be what they want but to strive for long term success instead of celebrating “a mere number of likes you got on your last post.”

“I have always focused all my energy into my work, my acting and modeling, and the fan following grew itself. I’m thankful to all of you guys, because It feels great to have so many people recognise your talent and work, rather than blindly taping that follow button and not even knowing what I actually do,” she concluded.
