Morgah SHO loses battle to coronavirus

He left behind a mother, a wife, a son and a daughter

RAWALPINDI:

Sub-inspector Asim Rasheed passed away on Friday after losing the battle to the novel coronavirus. He was stationed at Morgah as the station house officer, a police official said.

 It was shared that the sub-inspector was undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Health (NIH) since January 14. He left behind a mother, a wife, and a son and a daughter.

The funeral prayers for the deceased will be offered today (Saturday) at his residence in Chak Bahadur, keeping in mind all relevant Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs), the spokesperson maintained.

The official shared that in accordance with the policy issued by Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani, the deceased’s family will be provided with financial assistance.

 CPO Ahsan Younas said the grief of the family was shared by the Rawalpindi police. He stated that officers must ensure the implementation of all SOPs at all police stations.

It was also learnt that the deceased’s father had also passed away on Thursday due to Covid-19 and his funeral prayers will be offered along with the sub-inspector’s today.
