Pandemic claims 25 more lives in Sindh

Sindh reports 739 fresh Covid cases

Another 25 persons succumbed to the coronavirus, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday. The provincial death toll rose to 3,925 and with 739 new cases detected, the provincial coronavirus tally was lifted to 242,792.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House, 11,083 tests were conducted between Monday and Tuesday. The CM apprised that thus far 2,664,891 tests have been conducted while 221,007 patients have recovered from the contagion, including 1055 overnight.

The CM said that currently 17,860 coronavirus patients are under treatment in Sindh. Of these 16,955 are in home isolation, 12 at isolation centres and 893 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 814 patients was stated to be critical, with at least 89 persons shifted to ventilators.

Out of the 739 new cases, 505 were detected from Karachi. Meanwhile, Hyderabad and Matiari district reported 61 each, Ghotki 20, Jamshoro 12, Tando Muhammad Khan and Shaheed Benazirabad 11 each, Umerkot 10, Jacobabad nine, Sujawal seven, Larkana four, Badin two, Tando Allahyar three, and Khairpur, Shikarpur, Mirpurkhas, Saghar, Kambar and Kashmore one each.

The CM urged the people of the province yet again to follow SOPs.
