Over 800 prospective students sat for the admission tests for computer science, software engineering and applied physics undergraduate evening programmes at the University of Karachi on Sunday.
The entry tests, held in 34 classrooms housed in the KU's department of economics and department of computer science, were conducted in line with coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs), stated the varsity in a statement issued on the day.
According to the varsity, KU vice-chancellor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi visited the classrooms to review the arrangements for the implementation of the SOPs. Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, he said that test results and answer scripts would be uploaded online.
Test scores will be uploaded online on January 25 and the final list of successful candidates will be issued on January 31.
The candidates were allowed to enter the test centres only after their temperatures were checked with thermal guns.
According to KU directorate of admissions in-charge Dr Saima Akhtar, 1,021 candidates had applied for admissions to BS Computer Science (evening), BS Software Engineer (evening) and Bachelors in Applied Physics (evening) programmes at the varsity, and of them, 846 sat the entry tests.
