Sindh reports 630 fresh Covid cases

Province sees four more fatalities; 469 of the new cases detected in port city

As many as 630 fresh coronavirus cases were reported in Sindh on Sunday while another four persons succumbed to the virus. As the week drew to a close, the provincial death toll of the pandemic stood at 3,892 and its total tally of cases was at 241,200.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House on the day, 9,228 samples were tested for the contagion between Saturday and Sunday and 630 new cases emerged. As many as 2,641,929 tests have been conducted in the province thus far.

The CM further apprised that 241,200 persons have also recovered from the virus in the province, including 793 overnight.

At least 17,827 persons are under treatment for coronavirus in the province, according to the CM. Of these, 16,916 are in home isolation, 13 are at isolation centres and 898 persons are admitted to different hospitals. The condition of at least 810 persons was stated to be critical with at least 79 shifted to the ventilator.

Out of the 630 fresh cases, 469 were reported from Karachi, with 170 detected in South district, 158 in East, 72 in Central, 31 in Malir, 216 in West and 12 in Korangi district.
