ISLAMABAD:

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Security Dr Moeed Yusuf said on Saturday that Pakistan was a country squarely focused on the economic security paradigm, in contrast to India’s Hindutva ideology with an expansionist agenda.

Addressing a webinar titled ‘Indian Chronicles: India's Disinformation Campaign against Pakistan’, organised by the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), the SAPM said India had a conflict with every single neighbour, and fits the classic example of a rogue state.

Dr Yusuf, while delivering a keynote address, stressed that the malicious campaign against Pakistan had been going on even before the latest revelations of “Indian Chronicles”, which was just the tip of the iceberg.

Talking about Islamabad's response, he said that Pakistan had written to the European Union Parliament (EP) and investigations were already under way. He added that this was a failure of the UN system that allowed such fake NGOs to function.

“This has been a full-fledged attack on Pakistan, short of war,” he remarked. He then posed the question whether a country, like India, should even be sitting on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Dr Yusuf further stressed that India must stop its subversive activities against Pakistan and resolve the Kashmir issue under the international law to bring peace to the region as there was no scope for peace under the current circumstances.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, CASS President Air Chief Marshal (retd) Kaleem Saadat noted that despite the fact that even after the disclosure of this network by the EU DisinfoLab report, the world still remained unmoved.

"Other speakers in the webinar included Ejaz Haider, Ramsha Jahangir Oves Anwar. The webinar was moderated by Sitara Noor, Senior Researcher at CASS.
