HASANABDAL:

Two women were arrested by the police on being found driving a stolen vehicle.

The women, both residents of Swabi, rejected the allegation and kept asserting that they had borrowed the vehicle from a relative to drive to Islamabad.

The officials of Saddar police station of Hasanabdal claim that an informer had told them that two women will try to smuggle a stolen vehicle across the inter-provincial border between Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Subsequently, Saddar police put up a picket near Burhan Interchange. It was not long before the two suspects, later identified as Maliaka Malka and Mawa Bibi, were stopped for checking.

When the registration and engine number was checked on mobile app, it was found that the vehicle was stolen.

Both the women were taken into custody and the car was impounded.
