Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday visited Sialkot garrison and appreciated the professionalism and devotion of officers and men to defend the motherland in the face of multiple threats, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military's media wing said that General Qamar was briefed on the situation along the working boundary and operational readiness.

The COAS also interacted with garrison officers and men and lauded them for their high morale and indomitable spirit.

Earlier, on arrival, the army chief was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Asim Munir.

Last month, while interacting with the forward troops deployed along the LoC, General Qamar noted that Indian provocations, particularly the recent targeting of the UNMOGIP vehicles, were a threat to regional peace as well as stability and vowed that it shall always get a “befitting response” to any misadventure or aggression.

“Pakistan Army shall take measures to protect innocent civilians along the LoC [Line of Control] and defend honour, dignity and territorial integrity of the motherland at all costs,” Gen Qamar said.
