Realtors on the run after killing investor
A group of realtors allegedly killed and torched the body of their main investor after embezzling his investment.
The suspects were on the run, said officials of the RA Bazaar police station. Police are trying to track the suspects who have gone into hiding to avoid arrest. Meanwhile, one of the nominated suspects in the case has already obtained interim bail.
The complainant Zafran Khan had lodged an FIR with the RA Bazaar police stating that his brother Saqib Khan was working as a property dealer after his return from abroad.
He said that the deceased Saqib was having a dispute over a property deal with a local Amraiz and his son Amir. A number of jirgas, or dispute resolution committees, were also held between the two groups to solve the issue but nothing worked.
Zafran alleged in the FIR that Amraiz and his son Amir along with Jehangir, Fahad, and Haji Saeed repeatedly threatened and warned Saqib of dire consequences. The complainant said that he was witness to the suspects hurling death threats to his brother.
He went on to state that one night, an acquaintance, Majid and his wife, came to the victim’s house and told him to go with them. Saqib left with the couple to meet Amraiz, Amir, Jehangir, Fahad and Saeed as they were waiting for him.
Zafran said that he saw Saqib go with Majid but he did not return. Worried by this, the complainant and his elder brother went to Majid’s house in the morning and discovered the house was not locked. They entered and saw a room completely gutted. The burnt body of Saqib was found on the floor with a broken skull. The victim’s mobile was found in the adjacent room.
The complainant stated that the accused killed his brother with a sharp tool and then burnt his body to destroy the evidence.
