Varun Dhawan and his girlfriend Natasha Dalal happen to be friends from sixth grade but their friendship did not translate into anything so easily. In fact, the fashion designer actually rejected him multiple times before they got into a relationship, as Hindustan Times had reported previously.
However, now, it seems like the wedding bells have finally rung for the long-time couple! In a week from today, the childhood sweethearts may officially be hitched. According to Pinkvilla, Dhawan and Dalal are all set to tie the knot on January 24 at Alibaug. The wedding is going to be an intimate affair with only family members and close friends in attendance.
Reports suggest that the bride and groom, along with their respective families, will leave for Alibaug on January 22. The coastal town of Maharashtra is set to make Dhawan and Dalal's wedding a memorable affair.
It was during the promotions of the YRF’s Sui Dhaaga that Dhawan made a huge revelation about his relationship status with Dalal, in an episode of Koffee with Karan season six. He confirmed, "I am dating her and we are a couple. I plan to marry her."
Then, on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s radio show What Women Want, Dhawan spilled some more beans about his relationship. “The first time I met Natasha was in sixth standard. We have not been dating since then. We were friends till the 11th or 12th grade. We were very close friends,” he said. “I still remember, we went to Maneckji Cooper, she was in the yellow house and I was in the red house. It was on the basketball court that I saw her for the first time.”
He continued, “So, in the lunch break, in the canteen, they give you food and an energy drink. I remember her walking; I remember seeing her and actually when I saw her that day, I felt like I fell in love with her. That was it.” Yet, it was much later that the duo starting dating. “Natasha rejected me three-four times,” Dhawan admitted. “But I didn’t give up hope.”
Dalal seems to have fit right in with the actor’s family and is often seen accompanying them at events. Most recently, she was seen along with his mother at Anil and Sunita Kapoor’s Karwa Chauth celebrations last year. On the work front, Dhawan's recent release Coolie No 1 remake, garnered mixed reviews. The actor played the lead role in the film, opposite Sara Ali Khan. Next, he will next be seen with Kapoor and Neetu Singh in Jug Jug Jeeyo.
