A Sindh cabinet sub-committee decided on Thursday that a resolution would be passed in the provincial assembly for the immediate handing over of the Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) to the Sindh government.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the PSM action committee and trade union leaders, chaired by the members of the Sindh cabinet sub-committee of the PSM.
Besides, union leaders at the meeting were informed that the Sindh government had decided to write a letter to the Centre on the PSM issue.
The letter is being drafted by adviser to the Sindh chief minister on law, Murtaza Wahab, and a meeting to discuss it would be held two days later, the meeting was told. Addressing the meeting, Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had directed them to consult work on the recommendations and demands that were to be included in the letter.
The cabinet, however, added that the Centre wouldn’t be able to hand over the PSM to the Sindh government immediately and that there was a long struggle ahead.
