ISLAMABAD:

The front desk clerks at the police stations who write the reports of complainants are an integral part of the investigation process leading to the delivery of justice.

An error by these muharrars may go unnoticed by the complainants lacking knowledge of the penal code, but it may result in giving undue benefit to the suspects.

In this regard, the Islamabad police has decided to appoint muharrars at all police stations. IGP Qazi Jamilur Rehman has directed to appoint station clerks after test and interview.

The basic purpose of this exercise is to judge the understanding of policemen about police rules, affairs of police stations and decency towards public. The selected policemen would be also given training at Police Training School to enhance their capibility toward public service in fair and transparent manner.
