Police claim to have arrested abduction, murder suspect

The Sindh Rangers and the police arrested on Monday a suspect accused of abducting and killing a minor boy in Saeedabad area.

According to a statement issued by the police, a 12-year-old boy, Shahid Ali, was abducted on January 6 by his neighbour, Shamsher, and his accomplices, while he was playing outside his residence.

The police stated that the nabbed suspect has confessed to abducting the minor boy for ransom and confessed to strangulating the child to death. The police added that the suspect had demanded Rs7 million from the boy’s father and had warned of dire consequences.

The cops further stated that the arrested suspect was a friend of the victim’s father.

The police are yet to recover the body as the suspect told the cops that he had handed over the body to his accomplices, Muhammad Salman and Abdus Sattar, and the suspect claimed to not know where the body was dumped. The police are further investigating the matter and search for Shamsher’s accomplices is underway.

The kidnapping case was lodged on the complaint of the aggrieved father.
