A plea seeking curbs on the open sale of acid in markets was filed in the Sindh High Court on Tuesday.
The plea was filed by an acid-attack victim, Ahmer Iqbal.
Iqbal has stated in the plea that acid is being sold in markets openly despite laws, which were framed in 2011, against it.
The Supreme Court had issued a clear and stringent ruling on the matter, the plea states, contending that acid attacks cannot be controlled unless curbs are place on its open sale in markets.
It moves the court to direct the relevant authorities to take action against the open sale of acid.
The Ministry of Interior, Sindh chief secretary and other relevant authorities have been nominated as parties in the plea.
