CM approves 1,505 schemes for Balochistan

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal has approved 1,505 schemes for the province.

A high-level meeting chaired by the provincial chief executive reviewed the Annual Development Program 2020-21 on Monday at the CM House.

Provincial Minister for Communications Mir Arif Jan Mohammad Hassani, Parliamentary Secretary Information Bushra Rind, Chief Secretary Balochistan capt (tetd) Fazeel Asghar, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Abdul Saboor Kakar, Secretary S & GAD Mohammad Bilal Jamali, Secretary Finance Khan Buledi Saleem Awan, Secretary Building Ghulam Ali Baloch, Secretary Information Shah Irfan Gharshin, Commissioner Quetta Division Asfandyar Kakar and other officials participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary of Balochistan briefed the participants on the development projects and informed that an authorization of approximately Rs55 billion has been given for ongoing and new development projects.

He added that out of the 1,597 new schemes, 1,505 schemes have been approved by PDWP and DSC. Asghar highlighted

that the finance department has released more than Rs44 billion for uplift projects.

The meeting was also informed that land has been proposed on Spinny Road for construction of a new block of Civil Secretariat while construction of a new Smart Building for government departments and Directorates in Civil Secretariat.

Furthermore, Abdul Sabur Kakar, the Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, while briefing the meeting about the Provincial PSDP Strategy 2021-22, relayed that a regular timeline has been drawn up for the preparation of PSDP for the next financial year.

He added that administrative departments will be required to submit concept papers by mid-January 2021, while compost clearance committees will clear the concept papers by January 30 later this month.

Similarly, preparation of PC-1 will be announced from March 1by the Department of Planning and Development. The project will seek technical approval from PDWD and DSC for uplift projects by March and April.

Kakar further said that the first draft of PSDP would be prepared by May 15while the final draft would be prepared by May 30.

The Roads Secretary also briefed the meeting about the federal and provincial strategic road sector projects included in the Annual Development Program 21-2020.
