RAWALPINDI:

Speculations ran rife as the country plunged into the dark after a massive power breakdown on Saturday night.

The citizens of the garrison city remained distressed as different rumors circled during a sudden power failure in major cities across the country. The masses kept confirming sequential rumors from others as they had no authentic source of information other than social media.

A citizen, Muhammad Din, said that his family informed him about the nationwide power outage during the wee hours of Sunday and warned that anything could happen, believing the fake news circulating on social media.

As the power was out, people’s cellphones died as generators and UPS assisted those who can afford them while others sprung out on roads in their areas in an attempt to find out the cause behind the blackout.
