Polio vaccination drive targets 0.8m children

More than 885, 000 children under five years of age would be receiving anti-polio drops during a five day drive to commence in the district from January 11 to 15, said District Health Authority CEO Chaudhary Muhammad Hussain.

Being in-charge of the inoculation drive, he said that around 2,964 polio teams including 1,500 mobile teams, 307 fixed points, 90 transit points, 187 union council medical officers and 400 area in-charges would administer polio drops to more than 885,000 children.

Polio vaccinators have been trained with the coordinated efforts of the government and the World Health Organisation to accomplish the target set for inoculating children below five years of age.
