ISLAMABAD:

The Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) has decided to impose charged parking on 15 roads of the city.

The contracts for the right to collect parking fee would be awarded from January to June 30 while the bidding process would take place on January 12, RMC officials said.

The corporation has divided the parking areas into four circles. Some four to seven roads have been put in each circle. The auction process would also be carried out circle-wise.

This circle will be auctioned for Rs3.97 million. The vehicle parking fee will be Rs30 while motorcyclists would be charged Rs10. The other three circles include different roads in the city to be used as designated parking spaces.
