Over 1,200 new Covid cases emerge in Sindh

Sindh saw another 1,233 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, when 19 more coronavirus-deaths were reported in the province, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

The CM said that following the emergence of new cases, the province's infection tally had risen to 221,734 and the total number of fatalities caused by the contagion had increased to 3,653.

Of the new cases, 1,017 were reported from Karachi, 55 from Hyderabad, 29 from Mirpurkhas, 19 from Qambar-Shahdadkot, 13 from Badin, 12 from Thatta, 11 from Shikarpur, 10 from Umerkot, eight from Khairpur, six each from Ghotki and Naushero Feroze, five each from Sujawal, Sukkur and Tando Muhammad Khan, two each from Jacobabad, Tando Allahyar and Larkana and one from Jamshoro.

Besides, the CM added, 1,072 more Covid-19 patients have recovered, lifting the total number of recoveries in Sindh to 199,649.

He said 18,432 Covid-19 patients were currently under treatment in the province, of whom 17,591 were in home isolation, 11 in isolation centres and 830 in hospitals.
