Citizens caught on Tuesday a food delivery rider while he was trying to escape after looting a man at gunpoint in the limits of Ferozabad Police Station.
They later handed him over to the police.
According to Ferozabad SHO Aurangzeb Khattak, the arrested man, identified as Abdur Rauf, was making away with Rs15,000 he had snatched from a citizen, when the latter created a hue and cry.
As a result, area residents caught Rauf and handed him over to the police, the SHO said.
He claimed that Rauf had confessed to his involvement in 21 robberies and had admitted to looting citizens at gunpoint when visiting their residences to deliver food.
Quoting Rauf, the SHO said he would hold citizens at gunpoint as they would open the door to receive food and rob them of their belongings.
Rauf told the police that he had been working as a rider for an online food delivery platform for the past 10 years.
The police have registered a case against Rauf and launched investigations into the matter.
