Djibouti delegation visits Gwadar port
A delegation of Djibouti headed by President of National Parliament and acting Chairman African Union Parliament Muhammad Ali Hameed visited the new port city of Gwadar and extended invitation to the Pakistani industrialists and business community to visit Djibouti for increasing import and export and bilateral trade between both the countries.
Speaking at the China Business Centre during his visit to Gwadar over the weekend, he said that Gwadar deep sea port has great importance due to its location at an important trade route which could change the economic situation of the entire region.
The Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Naseer Ahmed Kashni while briefing the delegation said that Gwadar port has become fully operational and was ideal for promoting trade and business in the entire region. He said that the Gwadar Deep Sea Port could prove as guarantors for promoting shipping trade for the investors of the entire world due to its economic importance and trade route.
Director General of Gwadar Development Authority Shahzeb Kakar informed the delegation that work was in progress to make Gwadar an important modern industrial city and authorities were working under the Gwadar Master Plan for developing free and economic zones.
He said that Gwadar port would be linked to the Coastal highway soon as the work on East-ExpressWay would be completed soon.
The President Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Naveed Kalmati, Senator Kuhda Babar, Commissioner Makran division,Tariq Qamar, Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Maj (retd), Abdul Kabir and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
