Mercury to start rising gradually: PMD

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) spokesperson Khalid Malik said on Saturday that a new westerly weather system that entered the country, but it would not cause rain and gales to batter the city.

Hence, the temperature is expected to begin to rise within the next two days and the winter season is likely to end by the end of February, he said.

According to PMD, the minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded at 6.5 degrees Celsius on the second consecutive day on Saturday, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius. The humidity level remained was 35 per cent in the morning and per cent in the evening and the visibility was reduced to four kilometres due to fog in the morning.

The weather today is expected to remain cold and dry and the lowest temperature is expected to be recorded at 8 degrees Celsius.
