MNA Ali Wazir sent to jail on judicial remand

Court directs investigating officer to submit the challan of the case till next hearing

KARACHI:

The Anti-Terrorism court sent Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader and MNA Ali Wazir and others to jail on judicial remand.

Police produced Wazir and others before the ATC in Karachi. The court sent all the accused to jail on judicial remand.

The court further directed the investigating officer to submit the challan before the court till the next hearing.

PTM leader was arrested in Peshawar on December 16 on charges of hate speech against state institutions while addressing a rally in Karachi on December 6, according to police sources.

Wazir, who won his seat in the National Assembly from South Waziristan, said that he was unaware of why he was taken into custody.

While fellow party leader Mohsin Dawar, claimed that Wazir had been arrested while he was exiting the Shuhada-e-APS Memorial Library.

Peshawar Police said that Wazir was transferred to East Cantt Police Station following his arrest and a case has been registered against him at the Sohrab Goth Police Station in Karachi.
