Senior AGPR officer commits suicide

The police have registered a case and started the investigation

A top officer of Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue (AGPR) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the forehead on Tuesday.

Controller General of Accounts Khurram Humayun, a BPS 22 officer, was found dead in bed sitting with his back resting on the pillows and a hole in the middle of the head.

The Islamabad police Homicide Unit and the forensic department cordoned of the crime scene at the house in an upscale private housing society in the garrison city.

Senior police officer told The Express Tribune that although it seems like a suicide case, they will conduct a thorough inquiry and question people close to the officer to ascertain the events that forced him to take his life.

Police said the family of the deceased was in a shock, and as per policy, their statement will be recorded when they allow it.

Humanyun’s body was shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, a man was killed over old enmity in the precincts of Aabpara police station.

Asim Khan informed the police that Faraz Khan killed his brother Faisal Khan on the basis of old enmity. The police have registered a case and started the investigation.
