The budget is to be presented this evening by Provincial Finance Minister Mir Mohammad Asim Kurd Gello in the Balochistan Assembly.
The budget has a total outlay of Rs152 billion. According to sources, the total income from federal and provincial sources is estimated to be Rs144.92 billion for the next financial year. A deficit of Rs7.1 billion has also been forecast.
Official sources further revealed that education, health, agriculture and communication sectors have been given priority in the budget. The budget is also expected to incorporate a hundred percent raise in basic salaries of police, Balochistan Constabulary and the Levies Force.
A fifty percent raise in the basic salaries of other employees of the provincial government has also been accounted for.
Furthermore, an increase in allowances and pensions of government employees has also been proposed.
