Dog lovers brave cold for German Shepherd show
Dog lovers on Sunday braced the cold and rain when they turned out in great numbers to witness expertly trained German Shepherds. Some 128 German-Shepherds participated in the dog show organised at the Ayub National Park.
A large number of women and children came to the park to watch the show organised by the Army Heritage Foundation (AHF) in collaboration with the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan.
AHF Deputy Director Abdul Rehman said that it was the second dog show organised at Ayub National Park in which 128 German-Shepherd dogs from across the country participated, while the owners of winning dogs were awarded cash prizes.
The trained dogs showed different skills and received applause from the audience.
A German-Shepherd trainer, Zain, who hailed from Lahore, said that the international umpires could not participate in the event due to the coronavirus situation.
A young visitor, Hafsa, who has come to attend the show with her siblings, said that such shows should be organised more frequently.
Abdul Rehman said that AHF holds such activities for awareness of people of the twin cities. He said that this also encourages the dogs and pet owners to show their unique breed canines to people.
