Over 800 new Covid cases emerge in Sindh
The province's cumulative coronavirus tally has risen to 210,241
As many as 812 fresh coronavirus cases and seven infection-related deaths were reported in the province overnight, said Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali on Saturday.
Following this, the province's cumulative coronavirus tally has risen to 210,241, and the death has climbed to 3,469, he added.
The CM said a positivity rate of 9 per cent was recorded when over 800 of 11,040 samples tested were found infected on the day.
Moreover, he stated that 682 patients recovered from the contagious disease overnight, lifting the total number of recoveries in Sindh to 187,035.
Now, there are 19,737 active Covid-19 cases in the province, he said.
Of them, 18,966 are in home isolation, 755 are being treated in different hospitals and 16 are in isolation centres, the CM said. Among these patients, the condition of 660 is critical and 71 of them are on ventilators.
Of the newly reported cases, 622 were reported from the provincial capital alone, with 250 belonging to South District, 104 to East District, 94 to Central District, 75 to Korangi, 49 to Malir and 37 to West District.
