As a symbol of the strong brotherly ties between the two Muslim countries, the Pakistan-Turkish Friendship Square opened on Murree Road on Thursday.
The monument was inaugurated by Turkish Ambassador Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul along with the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Murtaza.
Murtaza said that the monument will offer a constant reminder to the public of the strong ties between Pakistan and Turkey. He added that as per the prime minister’s vision, Pakistan wished to further strengthen its relations with other Muslim nations.
“This memorial project is also in line with this vision,” the RDA chairman said. He furthered that both countries are working together for the welfare of their people, which is the main agenda of the incumbent government.
Yurdakul extended his gratitude to RDA for constructing the memorial in honour of Pakistan-Turkey friendship.
“The two countries are brothers to each other as Turkey is working on various projects to bring prosperity to the people in Pakistan,” he said.
