The singer has expressed worry over ‘jam packed’ local flights

The second wave of coronavirus has been detrimental for the healthcare infrastructure in Pakistan. While cases and fatalities have increased exponentially, social distancing measures are still being seldom imposed in many parts of the country.

Many public figures, in the last couple of months, some of whom have contracted the disease, have gone on to urge the public to adhere to social distancing measures. Popular singer and activist Shehzad Roy recently brought the public’s attention to the state of affairs in regard to Covid-19 SOPs at Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Describing his experience on a flight from Karachi to Islamabad, Roy talked about how the plane was packed and there weren’t any social distancing measures implemented. “Today, I travelled from Karachi to Islamabad on PIA flight PK 300. Previously, middle seats were kept vacant for social distancing but today, it was jam packed. Is there any policy to maintain social distancing or not?” the Laga Rahey singer questioned in a Twitter post.

Back in July, Roy revealed that he had been tested positive for Covid-19. Taking to Twitter, the Tera Mukhra crooner shared, "Few days ago, my family and myself contracted the coronavirus. With Allah’s blessings, we are fine." Adding on he advised the public to wear masks and follow SOPs.
