RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) Enforcement Control Authority (ECA) has sealed 22 illegal and errantly constructed shops in different areas of the city on Sunday.

Some eight shops in violation of the map in Hashim Plaza and 14 in Chamanzar Colony near the community centre were sealed by RMC.

ECA Chief Officer Khawaja Imran Safdar directed to continue the operation against illegal constructions without any discrimination. He issued a warning to the builders to immediately stop the commercial use of residential structures and get approval before constructing new buildings so that they do not face any inconvenience in the upcoming operation by the department.

The official also urged the people to complete the legal process before building new houses to avoid problems in the future.
