Arms licence holders in Rawalpindi have been directed to get computerised licences because the manual ones will be phased out from December 31.
The digitisation of all types of licensed weapons across Punjab has entered its final stage, officials of licence branch at the deputy commissioner’s office said.
They said the government has warned the arms-holders to complete the digitisation process by December 31. From January 1 all non-computerised weapons will be declared illegal and cases of illegal possession of weapons will be registered against the license holders of such arms.
The manual licences of people who have died will automatically be revoked.
