Cops find bodies of two ‘abducted’ men

Two more bodies found in different parts of the city

KARACHI:

The bodies of four men, including two kidnapped persons, were found from different areas of the city on Sunday.

The body of a man was found near the power house in Awami Colony. The police arrived on the spot and shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Riaz and his body bore wounds and torture marks. The case pertaining to Riaz's kidnap was registered two days ago at Korangi Industrial Area (KIA) Police Station, after which the police had taken some suspects into custody but no further progress was made in the investigation.

KIA SHO Khusnood Javed said that Riaz had been called out of his house by a person in the neighbourhood and since then he had been missing.

According to the SHO, the area local who had called Riaz out was also taken into custody and further investigation is underway.

Separately, the body of another man was found in the limits of KIA Police Station. The body was shifted to JPMC, where the deceased was identified as Ghulam Muhammad.

According to police, the body has no torture marks or wounds. However, the cause of death will be determined after the postmortem report is received.

Moreover, the body of a man was found from the garbage dumping site in Baghdadi, Lyari. The body was shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

According to Baghdadi SHO Jamal Laghari, the deceased was identified as Abdur Rehman, 15. He said that the murderers had tortured Rehman to death and thrown acid on his body. He further stated that Rehman was kidnapped 10 days ago and the case pertaining to the kidnapping was registered at Chakiwara Police Station.

SHO Laghari said that more facts will be revealed after the family records their statements.

Separately, the body of an elderly man was found from Khoya Gali in Jona Market. The body was shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital. The identity of the deceased couldn't be ascertained till the filing of this report. However, the police have launched investigations into the matter
