LAHORE:

Another land grabbing case has been registered against Malik Mansha alias Bomb and his sons in Township police station. The case has been registered on charges of land grabbing, threatening the complainant and other offences.

The complainant , Muhammad Qasim Usama, stated that Arshad Ali has a six-marla plot in Johar Town area. He alleged that whenever he visited the plot, Malik Mansha, Asim Mansha, Tariq Bomb, Faisal Bomb, Mushtaq Bomb, Sajid Bomb, Wajid Bomb and others intercepted them while carrying weapons and threatened to kill him if he went towards the piece of land.

They also demanded extortion money for letting the owner visit his plot, the complainant said. He continued he had built a boundary wall and gate at the plot. However, on November 10 when he was outside Lahore, his brother Muhammad Asim and friend Atta Muhiuddin found the boundary wall damaged and came to know that the suspects had carried away the iron gate and bricks.

He said he had also filed a complaint at Township police station in June. Last month, another land grabbing case was registered against the group in the same police station. Police had arrested the four sons of Mansha and seized automatic guns and pistols from them.

The complainant said he had set up a property dealing office in Gulshan-e-Mustafa scheme and the owners of a two-kanal plot situated nearby had given him power of attorney. He alleged that Mansha and others had made an attempt to grab the land. The complainant said he had registered a complaint on February 5 but could not pursue the matter because of threats from the suspects.

In November, Malik Mansha, his sons and several other armed people came to the plot on a tractor trolley, opened fire and took away building material present there, the complainant said. The suspects also barged into his office, snatched Rs40,000 from him and forced him to sign a cheque, he added. At least 78 cases of land grabbing, extortion, murder, attempt to murder and terrorism have been registered against the group. A few years back, the Supreme Court had also taken notice of complaints of land grabbing by Mansha and ordered an inquiry into the matter.
