Court likely to indict Memon at next hearing

Directs all accused to ensure their presence at the next hearing

KARACHI:

An accountability court directed Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sharjeel Memon and other accused on Thursday to ensure their presence at the next hearing of the assets beyond means reference against them. The court is likely to indict the accused in the National Accountability Bureau's reference against them.

Memon appeared before the court for the hearing on Thursday.

Directing all accused, including Sadaf Sharjeel, to ensure their presence at the next hearing, the court adjourned the hearing till January 12.

Separately, an accountability court admitted a graft reference pertaining to irregularities in procurement of medicines at KVSS Site Hospital in Landhi and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for four absconding storekeepers.

According to the reference the 14 accused forged purchase of medicine, showed consumption of fake medicines and committed corruption worth Rs670 million.
