Sindh Governor Imran Ismail hailed the Christian community on Tuesday for its “significant role in national progress, economic prosperity and social services.”

The governor expressed these views while meeting a three-member delegation of the Christian community, headed by Advocate Saleem Michael.

They discussed matters pertaining to security arrangements on the eve of Christmas.

“The Christian community has been playing an important role in the education, health and other important sectors,” the governor said on the occasion, giving assurances that the minority community’s issues would be resolved at the earliest.

Maintaining that minorities enjoyed “completed religious freedom and equal rights” in Pakistan, Ismail extended Christmas greetings to Christians in advance.
