A provincial assembly lawmaker was on Monday granted pre-arrest bail in a murder case.
A special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Abbottabad on Monday granted pre-arrest bail to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Provincial Assembly Member Faisal Zaman for his alleged involvement in the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Malik Tahir Iqbal.
Zaman, who is also the chairman of the provincial assembly’s Standing Committee on Law and Human Rights, appeared before the special ATC on Monday.
Court approved his bail but directed him to appear before it again on Monday, December 21.
Speaking to media outside the court, Zaman claimed he was innocent and had been framed. “Some black sheep in the police department have framed me in this case. I have full confidence in the courts that I will get justice,” he said.
