Another 1,260 viral infections confirmed
Provincial virus tally nears 200,000 cases, as positivity ratio hovers around 15%
As many as 1,260 people were diagnosed with Covid-19 in the province overnight, said a statement issued Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday.
The virus tally in the province reached 196,960 with the new cases, which emerged after 8,464 samples were tested on the day. The positivity ratio for the day was 14.8 per cent for Sindh.
Meanwhile, six more patients succumbed to the virus, lifting Sindh's coronavirus-related death toll to 3,164, added the statement.
The CM further stated that 866 more patients regained health overnight in the province, which took the number of recoveries to 168,209.
However, he mentioned that there were 25,589 active coronavirus patients in Sindh, of whom 24,572 were in home isolation, 1,001 were being treated at different hospitals and 16 were admitted at isolation centres. He added that 781 patients were in critical condition and 86 of them had been put on ventilators.
According to Shah, of the newly reported cases, 1,041 were detected in the provincial capital, with 327 from South district, 294 in Central, 128 in Korangi, 124 in Central, 104 in South and 64 in Malir.
Furthermore, Hyderabad saw 44 cases, Dadu 22, Shaheed Benazirabad 19, Naushero Feroze 15, Jamshoro 12, Mirpurkhas 10, Khairpur, Tando Muhammad Khan, Larkana and Ghotki eight each, Umerkot and Qambar-Shahdadkot six apiece, Shikarpur and Badin four each, Sukkur, Sanghar and Jacobabad two each, and Matiari one.
