Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) slapped fines on many food and beverage outlets across Kohlu on to control sale of substandard and unhealthy food items. BFA Director General Ibrahim Baloch initiated the raid a part of provincial drive.
Two baking plants were fined for littering in the baking area and using substandard colors in production as well as operating rusty machinery and poor personal hygiene of the employees. Fines were also imposed on eight wholesalers and general stores for selling expired spices, baby food, beverages, banned Chinese salt and Gutka Pan Prag. Furthermore, three hotels were penalized for serving stale food and poor sanitation in general.
