Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday lauded the efforts of Sindh Ranger for maintaining peace and stability in Karachi, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military's media wing said the army chief visited the Headquarters of Pakistan Rangers Sindh in Karachi, where he was received by Major General Omer Ahmed Bokhari.
During the interaction, the COAS appreciated the contributions of Sindh Rangers and paid homage to their sacrifices. On arrival, he also laid floral wreath on Yadgar-e-Shuhuda.
Earlier in the day, General Qamar also attended the 48th Basic Aviation Security Course Passing out Parade held at Airport Security Force Academy in Karachi. A large number of serving and retired officials and families of passing out trainees witnessed the parade.
While addressing participants of the ceremony, the COAS said that training of ASF trainees will enhance the standards of the aviation security in Pakistan.
He expressed satisfaction over the training and performance of the ASF recruits and also appreciated participation of women in the force.
The COAS congratulated the trainees and their families and distributed prizes among the position holders.
General Qamar was received by Director General Airport Security Force Major General Zafar UI Haq upon his arrival at the academy earlier in the day.
