Nostalgia is the hearts way to remind us of something we once adored. It may mean different things to different people, but it will always have the same bittersweet taste. Similarly, Kashmir Cooking Oil’s latest campaign #RiwayatJoSaathChala truly reminds us that some traditions are indeed timeless. Their latest TVC narrates a beautiful story that makes us realise how essential traditions are in making us who we are, no matter where life takes us.

Manzar Sehbai stole the show (albeit the TVC) with a beautiful story narration that encapsulates Kashmir Cooking oil’s values as a brand. Their latest campaign whirling around the realistic concept, ‘Bara Ghar’ is quite impressive. The brand, unlike most oil brands, has broken clutters by deviating from the traditional storylines revolving around cooking shots, multiple people dancing absurdly or a family enjoying food at the dinner table. Instead, the TVC, showcases 'Bara Ghar' that brilliantly signifies nostalgia and longstanding traditions being passed on from one generation to the next, as families move out of their ancestral homes.

Kashmir Cooking Oil has been around since 1962, and thus, it understands that traditions truly never end; even after moving out of the house one has grown up in, or seen generations grown up in. It is up to us to ensure that these values and wholesome traditions find a way to be part of our upcoming generation’s everyday life. True values and wholesome traditions definitely need to evolve, but it is equally important to remind the younger generation to preserve what is precious to the heart.

Director Marketing, Mian Shahzad Khalid, talks about the concept of the TVC by saying, “The main idea of the campaign was taking those traditions and values forward that are associated with your ancestral home. We want to build a connection of these important values with the new generation, along with the heritage of the brand. Human emotions dominate the TVC through which we have tried to give our viewers a taste of their own home.”

The TVC’s aesthetics, paired immaculately with background music, and a soul-stirring storyline, is what that has sincerely touched our hearts.

Kashmir Cooking Oil has provided a platform to its consumers so that they are able to express themselves through food. Food has its own rich history, which the brand has used exquisitely to tell their story and highlight its own heritage. It has also given a message about the importance of cultural values such as serving the elders first, eating together as a family, helping spread happiness in the neighbourhood by exchanging means, helping stray animals, and many more longstanding traditions that amicably make us who we are and remind us what we stand for.
