Another 2,013 new infections in Sindh
The positivity ratio stood at 15.8 per cent in the province on Sunday

As many as 2,013 fresh coronavirus cases emerged in the province overnight with a positivity ratio of 15.8 per cent, revealed Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday. The number is the highest reported in a single day so far in the second wave of the pandemic.
He added that the newly surfaced cases, emerging from 12,270 samples tested on the day, had lifted the virus tally in the province to 184,486.
Moreover, Shah stated that eight more people had succumbed to the virus overnight, taking the death toll to 3,019.
The CM further said that there were currently 21,886 active Covid-19 cases in the province, with 20,042 patients in home isolation, 861 being treated at different hospitals and 12 admitted to isolation centres.
He added that 769 patients were in critical condition and 82 had been put on ventilators.
On the other hand, 1,014 people regained health overnight, which took the number of recovered patients in Sindh to 159,581.
Of the newly reported cases, 1,594 were detected in the provincial capital, stated the CM, with 675 from the East district, 365 from South, 250 from Central, 165 from Korangi, 98 from Malir and 41 from West district.
Moreover, Hyderabad saw 99 new cases, Tando Muhammad Khan 37, Badin 34, Shaheed Benazirabad 32, Jamshoro 20, Naushero Feroze 16, Larkana and Ghotki 14 each, Mirpurkhas 13, Matiari 12, Umerkot 11, Thatta and Sujawal eight each, Sukkur seven, Jacobabad six, Dadu and Qambar-Shahdadkot five each, Tando Allahyar four, Khairpur three, and Kashmore, Sanghar and Shikarpur two apiece.
