Menzies Aviation, the global aviation services firm, has announced the acquisition of 51% shareholding in Royal Airport Services (RAS), an aviation services business based in Pakistan, says a press release. The deal offers Menzies Aviation the opportunity to enter Pakistan’s aviation services market. “This acquisition has created a strong platform for Menzies Aviation in this growing market and will increase depth of service capability while expanding its geographical footprint,” the release said. Menzies Executive Chairman Philipp Joeinig said, “The acquisition is in line with our global strategy to offer our service portfolio to new markets and we believe that a presence in Pakistan will provide a strong platform for further regional growth opportunities.” RAS has been operating since 2007 and provides a range of aviation services including ground and cargo handling, airline ticketing and cargo sales across Pakistan. It handles both domestic and international carriers across eight airports, with revenue in excess of $20 million in 2019.
