Samples from the body sent for Covid-19 testing

The investigation police agreed on Wednesday to conduct the postmortem examination of an alleged robber, Abbas, who was killed in an alleged encounter in Gizri last week.

The demand for the second postmortem was made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Laila Parveen, who claimed that the police had killed Abbas, her driver, in a staged encounter in Gizri.

However, prior to the second postmortem, samples from the body have been sent for coronavirus testing, as suggested by the additional police surgeon. According to the police, the postmortem would be performed again when the coronavirus test results come out negative and after a medical board is formed for the purpose.
