NAB chief assures Mandviwalla of justice

Iqbal maintained that he had already sought complete record of the case from NAB

ISLAMABAD:

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Monday assured Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala that he was examining the corruption cases being investigated against him to fulfil the prerequisites of justice.

The Senate deputy chairman called on the anti-graft watchdog’s chief at the NAB headquarters where the former apprised the latter about his case in NAB, Rawalpindi.

Iqbal listened to the point of view of Mandviwalla patiently and maintained that he had already sought complete record of the case from NAB, Rawalpindi and would himself examine the case in detail as per law. He observed that NAB respected all the parliamentarians and believed in protecting their self-esteem.

On Sunday, the NAB chairman had taken notice of the allegations levelled by Senate deputy chairman against the anti-corruption watchdog and sought complete record of the graft case against him. Mandviwalla had called NAB a “blackmailing organisation” and alleged that people went to the national graft buster only to seek plea bargain to save their honour. (WITH INPUT FROM APP)
