Sindh reports 1,336 new cases, 11 more fatalities

As many as 11 more persons in Sindh succumbed to the coronavirus on Monday and another 1,336 cases were reported, taking the provincial tally to 174,350.

Sindh's death toll for the pandemic thus far stands at 2,935 while some 152,559 persons, including 1,070 between Sunday and Monday, have recovered from the virus, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House.

There are currently 18,816 active cases in the province, according to the statement. Of them, 18,022 patients are in home isolation, 12 at isolated centres and 782 at different hospitals, where the condition of at least 700 patients is stated to be critical with at least 62 shifted to ventilators. As many as 1,984,764 tests have been conducted thus far, including 13,169 against which the 1,336 new cases were detected.

The positivity ratio on the day was 10.1 per cent. Of the new cases, 1,072 were detected in Karachi. Hyderabad reported 55 cases, Shaheed Benazirabad 25, Dadu and Ghotki 20 each, Matiari and Sanghar 17 each, Larkana 15, Naushero Feroze 14, Jamshoro, Qambar-Shahdadkot and Umerkot 10 each, Badin seven, Tando Allahyar four, Jacobabad three, Sukkur two, Mirpurkhas, Sujawal and Tando Mohammad Khan one each.
