Mercury drops as low as 10.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday

Mercury dropped as low as 10.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, breaking the 10-year-old record for the lowest temperature in the port city in November.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, mercury may drop down to 10 or 12 degrees Celsius on Monday and the weather is likely to remain cold and dry.

The PMD stated that the lowest temperature recorded in November was 12 degrees Celsius in 2010, and 7.4 degrees Celsius before that, in 1986.

In November 2011, the minimum was recorded at 16.6 degrees Celsius during the month, the following November it was 14 degrees Celsius, 15.5 degrees Celsius in November 2013, then 16.5, 13.8, 14, 11 and 16.5 degrees in the following years, finally being recorded at 15 degrees Celsius last November.

On Sunday, the highest temperature was recorded at 29.4 degrees Celsius while humidity remained between 23 to 51 per cent.
