Hospital officials say initial medical report confirms victim was sexually abused

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and murdered in Chak No 711L, on the outskirts of Harappa, on Saturday.

Police said the minor girl, a second grade school student, was allegedly abducted and brutally killed with a sharp-edged weapon on the outskirts of Harappa. The victim’s body was found in a sack outside her house. District Police Officer Amir Taimur ordered the Harappa SHO to immediately arrest the accused.

A case was registered against the suspects while one nominated accused was arrested.

The victim, daughter of Nobahar, a resident of Chak No 711L, a village near Harappa, went to a shop in the evening to buy something.

When the girl did not return home for a long time, the family started searching for her but the girl was not found anywhere. Later, two unidentified motorcyclists threw the body of the girl in a sack outside the house at 10pm and fled. When the girl’s family came out and opened the sack, it was the victim’s body. There were multiple scars on the body and the victim was killed with a sharp weapon.

The police transferred the victim’s body to the district headquarters hospital for postmortem. As per hospital officials, in the initial postmortem report revealed that the minor girl was sexually abused. However, the officials said the facts would be confirmed after the final report.

Harappa police registered a case against four accused, including two unknown persons, on the complaint of the girl’s father.

The police arrested an accused identified as Mala during a raid. Raids were also being carried out to arrest the remaining three accused.

In an earlier case on June 7, a seven-year-old boy, who was abducted from D-Type Colony area, was killed after being raped. The body was found by local residents after it was thrown into a canal in Dijkot area. The victim, son of Arshad Abdul Majeed, resident of the Allama Iqbal Colony area, in the jurisdiction of D-Type Colony police station, went to a shop on June 5 and did not return home.

Later, passers-by saw the body and informed Dijkot police, who took it into their custody and later handed it over to D-Type Colony police.

When the body of the slain child reached home, it reportedly sparked anger in the area.

On April 21, the body of a five-year-old kidnapped child was found in a sack at Saim Nala Bawa Chak by police.

The minor boy was abducted 11 days earlier from a street near his house in Rafiq Colony as he was out to play with his friends.
